Surry Recreation Committee
Who Are We:
The recreation committee is a group of local volunteers who meet to plan and coordinate activities for Surry residents. We are a committee under the umbrella of the Town and are partially funded through tax dollars.
Currently, we have offered programming for youth to include:
- Little League Baseball
- Basketball
- Soccer
It is our continued hope to grow the Surry Recreation offerings and provide opportunities for ALL of our community members, children and adults. We are encouraging any and all community members to reach out to the committee if there is interest in providing an offering or have any ideas.

What’s Happening Right Now:
Currently, we are in the midst of Little League Baseball! After a hiatus last season due to COVID-19, we have resumed play following CDC guidelines. To review those guidelines, please follow this link: https://www.maine.gov/decd/general-guidance
This year, we are hosting:
- Player Pitch Baseball (ages 9-10+) - 12 kids
- Coach Pitch Baseball (ages 6-8) - 17 kids
- Tee Ball (ages 4-6) - 14 kids
In collaboration with Blue Hill and other teams across the Peninsula, we were able to send three girls to play softball and 2 boys to play the Majors level baseball.
We give thanks to the many folks who stepped up to help us clean up the fields prior to the season’s start and thanks to those who have volunteered their time coaching, helping in the dugout and at practices.
If you’d like to come watch a game and support our young Surry Tigers, bring a chair, distance from others and cheer us on!
